      Kurzbiografie

Gabriela Aquije Zegarra (PE) is a landscape architect and design researcher. She holds an MSc. Design Research (2020) by the COOP program of the Bauhaus Foundation Dessau, Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, and the Humboldt University of Berlin. Since then, she combines her background in landscape architecture and temporary art installations, to explore the multi-scale food systems between Europe and Latin America.  She’s designing ways of knowing anchored in collaborative practices: either by gardening or collective cooking, as well as collective performance and material experimentation.

Currently, she’s a candidate of the MAKE/SENSE Ph.D. program, a practice-based research in art and design, hosted by the Basel Academy of Art and Design FHNW and the University of Art and Design in Linz. Her project “Culinary Re-turn: gastro-political ecologies of indigenous cooking landscapes in Peru'' explores cooking as an aesthetical, interspecies, and decolonial design practice.
